We are now down at a patch size of ~600KB, not counting the plugins that are 
new in 2.1.

OpenGL stuff has been merged. I got the Dissolve transition and some other 
effects to render via OpenGL using the MESA software renderer, but a small 
amount of tweaking was necessary (because MESA is not OpenGL 2.0; Dissolve 
does not use 2.0 features).
