This is how we do the credits for "the_source" http://www.thesourceshow.org. We create a really tall image in the gimp which gives us a little more control over the look of the text. Then we pop that image into Cinelerra and expand it to cover the timeframe we need. Then we use the projector to pan over that image. We start with it in the center of the screen and then move it over to the side to make room for our outtakes like you see in movies or TV shows. Check out the show to see an example.
