Mmmm... I think you created keyframes and that makes the blinking
effect.

I never encountered such a blinking effect bug. My last project contains
more than 1600 fade keyframes (400 pictures with fade in and fade out).
I think I should have noticed that bug. However, I NEVER move any fade
keyframe on the curve. I always use the fade slider. It a possibility
there's a bug when creating and dragging fade keyframes on the timeline.
I strongly advise you to adjust the fade level using the slider.

Did you zoomed on the white line, in the main window? Do you see those
keyframes? You have to make sure "View -> Fade" is selected in the menu.
