actually, even if that problem is fixed there is still the 29.97 fps
problem, which means that samples can never match the frames precisely,
which will sometimes cause desync when cutting/trimming even if all
material was carefully put on the timeline.  25fps footage never
exhibits this problem. (it still exhibits the original one)

For people in 29.97 countries, i'd suggest using 30fps frame rate and
setting it to 29.97 only at the end when exporting
