Just add following in /etc/sysctl.conf:
# make cinelerra happy
kernel.shmmax = 2147483647
easier then recompile kernel

to get permanently rid of this error, you have to recompile your kernel.
go to the kernel source directory, in file 'include/linux/shm.h' you will
find, in the beginnig, a line '#define SHMMAX 0x2000000'
change that to 0x7fffffff and then recompile the kernel.

I may have limited memory too... sorry but...
...what is the reason for Cinelerra error window suggesting a temporary
only solution?
