Summary: stop should jump back to starting point, only pause
should leave the cursor where it is
           Product: Cinelerra
           Version: 2.1
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: Medium
         Component: User Interface
        AssignedTo: [email protected]
        ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

when using the timeline to edit/view some audio wav-file, there are two
functions that can halt the playback, one is "stop", the other is "pause" (i.e.
clicking the play-button again).

The behaviour I expect, and which is how bcast2000 used to behave, is that upon
"stop", the cursor jumps back to the position where it started when "play" was
clicked, and upon "pause", playback ceases and the cursor stays where it is at
the moment.

The behaviour cinelerra shows though is that no matter whether "stop" or
"pause" are used, the cursor stays where it is.

This is annoying, most of all when one is searching for a specific part (like
e.g. some word or something) in a bigger file. Because if I'm off by just a few
tenths of a second, if the behaviour was the way I expect it to be, I could
just hit stop, the cursor would be back to where it started and I could move it
accordingly. With the behaviour the way it is now, I have to try and remember
where the cursor was when it started and _then_ move it. This is annoying.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.press play
2.press pause
3.or press stop

Actual Results:
in both cases the cursor stays where it is

Expected Results:
i would expect the cursor to jump back to starting position when engaging
"stop"

note additionaly that if "pause" and "stop" behave identically, what's the use
of having both of them?
