Yes, that's it. Using --buffer as an option for the HDV-modified dvgrab
program.
I think you misread my emails, I said anyone using TEST-MPEG2 should
be careful because it doesn't use buffering. I know that DVGRAB uses
buffers, especially the HDV version, since I wrote the experimental
HDV patch for it. In case it isn't clear, test-mpeg2 and dvgrab are
_completely_ different programs.
So I should repeat, anyone using test-mpeg2 should be careful to
review ALL the footage they capture or export with it, since its lack
of buffering will most likely drop frames.
