Hello fellow cinelerra users (and devs).
I have been working with Cinelerra for a few years now, and have
recently upgraded my system and checked out the newest cvs to work on a
more ambitious project.
I am using FRAPS to capture video off my gaming computer which comes in
at 1152x864, in the fraps codec.
The target is 320x240 for youtube.
So, on my windows box, I have been encoding the full size fraps avi
files to DivX using virtualdub. Then transferring the DivX avi files to
cinelerra for cropping and positioning. Then I render out chunks of
video at the proper size so that I can edit with performance close to
realtime.
My questions...
What is the best codec to use for cinelerra rendering to be imported
back in as a cinelerra resource? Uncompressed is fine at this resolution.
Is there a better codec to use inside of virtualdub to get raw source to
cinelerra without compression? The only issue here is some of these
files are just huge.
Any gotcha's or other things to be aware of while doing this?
Thanks for any tips or insights!
