Hi Everyone,
I have been playing around with Cinelerra for a few weeks. I have been
following http://www.thesourceshow.org video tutorials.

Information about my hardware (in case anyone is interested):
- hard disk drive camcorder (SONY DCR SR32)
- The format is .mpg (720x576 Europe)
- connects with a USB cable.
- SUSE Linux 10.2 sees it as a /dev/sda1 /media/disk.

Surprises so far:
- a new term: interlacing
- not a firewire nor DV tape, which seems to be the standard (kino cannot read
file).
- VideoLan works well, and has an interlacing menu.
- Pitivi shows video but, again, the interlacing appears.
- Cinelerra can load the film but has an interlacing problem which I will be
looking into.

I do not have a lot of experience working with video. I hope that I can add
what I am learning to this mailing list as well as getting help.

Rose
