Hi Hermann,

For my own needs, I've planned to keep the HDV quality from cam to BD.
But as most people still will own and use DVD players, I will have to
make also a DVD version for my friends. So far I haven't heard of a way
to downconvert directly from HD video on BD/HD-DVD to DVD quality,
though it maybe will happend sometimes.

Besides, I have 15 years family footage on analog Hi8 video to convert
to digital video and backup on BD, and also edit and create some end
users DVD disks. As previous mentioned, I'm searching for a possibly
better method than the traditional Analog-to-DV25 conversion boxes are
able to manage, this to preserve most of the original color depth. Maybe
a good analog-to-mpeg2 higher profile converter can be a solution.

Thanks,
Terje J. Hanssen
