Hi Doug!
Nice to hear you are having fun with your video!
I'm not sure I understand your problem.
I put in Audio clips using copy and paste and drag and drop.
Audio only? From resource windows? from Viewer? From the timeline
itself?
My audio starts playing before the curser gets to the insertion point
and then shuts off and on before the end.
I'm used to call the cursor 'insertion point'. Do you mean that you can
hear the sound before the cursor reach the waveform? Or that the audio
clip start before the video clip?
Do I have to put in, in and out points or something.
Usually the cursor works as 'insertion point' for paste operations (if
no in-point is set). It should be enough for simple editing.
Do you know that you can reach us also on IRC channel #cinelerra on
FreeNode? We could 'talk' in a more interactive way and possibly help
you better.
I'm happy to help (if I can) :-)

I put audio into time line as clips from resource window. I moved the
insertion point on the time line where I wanted the audio to start and
inserted the audio there. When I play back the sound I get sound before
the curser gets to where I inserted the Auden. It plays for 10 or 20
seconds and stop and then picks up sound again for some seconds and so
on. I inserted a second sound clip on another track at the point where
I wanted it to start and it also plays before the curser gets to it on
the time line. I hope this makes sense.
I'm afraid I don't know what Free node is all about but I will take
a look on line. being able to talk would definitely be better.
Doug
