Hello,
I am just learning Cinelerra and all has been going well until the project I am working with now. When I play the project in the compositor it does well as long as I let it run forward - if I try to scrub it freezes and I cannot do anything more, in any window, until I force an "end process" (which requires ending 2 processes because when I start the compositor it starts a second process) and restart cinelerra. I have tried using a different color model and display but none of that has worked. This video has several short clips and several transitions, which I thought might be slowing things down, but even if I turn all the transitions off it is still freezing. Everything was working even partway into this project so I suppose I must have changed a setting which is causing the problem but I don't know what to try ( I changed settings when I read some info in the Cinelerra CV manual) I googled and checked the mailing list archive and the only thing that came close was changing from x11-xv to x11 only, but that didn't work.

Another hunch is that it is actually something to do with the audio as I had trouble with getting sound from the speakers until I used ALSA. I also deleted the original AVI sound track and added a wav file sound track. When trying to discover the source of the problem I opened a former project that had gone well but the sound went "staticky" as the children called it - I brought the sound level down and that seemed to fix it. Perhaps related??

I have a 1700Mhz processor with 1.2 GB RAM
Cinelerra 2.1CV (build Sunday Jan 21, 2007)
Ubuntu Edgy

Well, thank you for your time, and I hope someone can give me a suggestion.
