You're right: it takes 2 keyframes.
- First check the button 'generate keyframes while editing'.
- Go on the timeline to the start of your camera pan. Adjust the camera
accordingly.
- go to the end of your camera pan. Adjust the camera accordingly.
- Uncheck the button from the first step
- Enjoy :) The camera should now move from the first position to the second.
