Folks,
I investigated this issue some more and it turns out that the ATI display
driver, fglrx is interfering with the ScreenCapture device, thus giving
me the poor performance I am seeing.

I can record fine using the single-head onboard video, but when I switch to
the dual-head ATI card running the fglrx driver, I get terrible response
from the screen capture..extremely slow and lots of frame drops.

On single-head, I don't enter a "Display" for the monitor and screen
captures work just fine. I'm thinking that maybe I need to enter
a specific "Display" for screen captures to work properly with dual
head.

I looked at the manual, but it doesn't say much about the values
accepted in the Display field. Can someone give me a hand identifying
what values I should enter for my dual head display adapter?

thanks,
scott
