ubuntu32 gutsy packages DON'T work with k7 or any amd systems.....
Why???
Cos i only have amd64 and i386 architecture available to build packages.
From the other side users are right cos they can't find proper info......

reinstall it? Or should I get a hold of the binary and compile it myself?
If that would work, I would appreciate any assistance on how to do that.
That would be totally new to me. Of course, I could always use alien to
port an .rpm over the a .deb. But not sure if that would work any better?
Oh, and you mention leaving further correspondence on the list? I'd be glad
to, but not sure what you mean by the list. Remember, I’m a noob to Linux,
still.

At first I got a libfaac.so.0 error. So I reinstalled the libfaac for 32
bit machines through synaptic. That error went away and the above message
now appears. It looks like some kind of illega instruction is going on???
Not sure what it is or how to find out.
I do remember when running the elive cd, it mentioned an echo command that
had a number of "f"s in the command. Like this fffffff. I'll go reboot
that, and see exactly what it is, and will email you back with that
command
to see if it helps.

Ok, I'll try some troubleshooting:
Do you see a splash screen or any error messages, or does it just
fail silently?
Please start Cinelerra from a terminal (xterminal, gterminal, whatever)
by typing "cinelerra" + Enter on the command line. Do you see any
output there? What output? (Cut and paste into the e-mail, if it is
no more than a screenful. Otherwise take the last 20 lines, or try to
summarise.)
