Well... maybe your installation is more complete than mine... Apparently, the problem is architecture dependent. I have SUSE 10.3 on a p4 laptop too, and there cinelerra runs well.
But on amd64, my point is that one file appears to be missing completely. The mpeg2enc plugin is not only absent from where cinelerra's link points to, but i have not been able to find it at all on the entire system. And that is although there are three RPMs installed all of which are, according to yast's software manager, supposed to provide mpeg2enc, namely transcode, mjpegtools, and cinelerra. in fact, none of them does. cinelerra provides a "mpeg2enc.plugin" which is only a link pointing to /usr/bin/mpeg2enc. the latter file does exist on the p4 laptop but not on the amd64 desktop machine. georg Am Thursday, 6.
