Talking about GUIs, QDVDAuthor has always been very promissing but also very unstable. I use and recommend DVDStyler (also based on dvdauthor), their documentation is also quite clear and the software is really easy to use. If you get the time to study spumux, dvdauthor and their xml, you'll be able to get very far, I myself have made a DVD that had like 100 menus and about 3000 navigation buttons. It'll be easier though to do complex structures like this via xml, not the GUI. The only thing I still wonder how to do is to create the choice for the subtitle on the menu, like chosing MENU -> SUBTITLES and from there chosing "english, spanish, portuguese" and pressing play on the video. I'll be very grateful if anyone knows hos to do this. Also, a very simple hit-and-run program is ManDVD. The simplest, very efficient for simple jobs, I used it to do a 3-monitor installation that had to run three different videos in sync without pressing play on the dvd.
