So you mean, that practically all programmers of todays desktop applications
got it wrong?
(or at least the entire user interface, some performance
critical widgets can with
benefit be written in these languages though.)
As far as speed is concerned: NLE editing involves heavy use of thumbnails,
tweaking of Beizer curves etc. Even the smallest GUI lacenty will likely
to become annoying.
Your suggestion would imply to use the "right" languages only for
trivial buttons and menus, resulting in a disgusting language mix, much
worse than choosing the "wrong" language throughout the GUI.
I'll throw in the D Programming Language[1], I've been looking at D for
some time, eager to get down and dirty with it. ;-)
cin-3 not even has a GUI programmer right now. If you say, that the GUI
should written in D, it won't get easier to find one (or are you up to the
task?)
