Hello Adam Williams, your asumption is wrong, you can take it for granted that the project labeled currently still with the preliminary name "Cin3" will *not* be named "Cinelerra Verison 3" or Cinelerra in any way. There is no need for HV to make a unusual Version step to Version 4. You can take this as an official statement. We had currently a developer meeting (I posted the protocol to this List). You can see there that "The naming discussion" was one of the points on the agenda. I can assure you, *no one* of the persons involved even faintly supports keeping the "Cinelerra" name now that the project is clearly a separate one. We are currently sorting the many proposed names and trying to narrow the number of candidates. Once we have decided on the new name (which probably will happen way before our next meeting on 6. March) we will perform a complete renaming, including repo names, internal symbols in the already written code base and all accompanying documentation.
