Hi,

Before running cinelerra do the following as root:
echo "0x7 fffffff" >/proc/sys/kernel/shmmax
my question is what does this message means and if I just write that
order and then what? Hope someone can guide me.

I also got this message, and I typed the command (IIRC it's a bit
miss-spelled in the warning dialog).

But except that the message disapeared after that, I didn't notice
any difference (although I didn't try hard to find one).

Looks like it's the maximum amount of memory, which can be mapped
as shared pages. Not sure how extensively cinelerra uses shared memory.
As long as you have a single process, you don't need it at all.
