Hi! It's not much that I can contribute here code-wise (or ins-and-outs-of-multimedia-formats-wise), so I'm glad that I can offer something entirely different: hardware, RAM for that matter. It's a bar of 512MB PC2-4200 SO-DDR2 533 that came preinstalled with the Dell Inspiron 6400n I bought last summer. I pimped the machine to the maximum of 2GB lately, and since there are only two sockets that can hold a maximum of 1GB each, the original memory is no longer of any use to me. So, if anyone of the Cinelerra developers is in need of such memory - be it only as a spare one or to sell it on ebay ;) - please contact me via PM. I know that offer is not huge, as memory is fairly inexpensive nowadays, but I ask anyway. This is also a good opportunity to say thanks to all of you! Cinelerra enables me to pull off my first movie project without having to sell my soul to the devil, err, employer for some months to then be able to pay for an editing suite which I can't understant how any programmer of sane mind could ever have designed the way it is (step in/step out for layered effects on Avid, for example). So thanks, you rock!
Andreas, aka pseudoruprecht P.S. For the record: I didn't upgrade the memory in the laptop for Cinelerra (512MB were just fine for SD DV). KDE4 was the culprit. That nasty memory hog ;) -- My 5 today: #199794 (kubuntu-meta), #213035 (ubuntu), #213075 (kdebase-kde4) Do 5 a day - every day! https://wiki.ubuntu.com/5-A-Day
