You mean stretch on the timeline, to more than one frame's duration?
You managed to put the image on the timeline. Zoom in (down arrow key).
Arm the track. Approach with the mouse pointer from the right.

Once you get close to the right boundary, the pointer is changed
from its "capital I" shape to a left-pointing arrow.
You can then grab the clip boundary and drag it to the right.

Sure it works with the left boundary too.
