Well, I got some advice on IRC and managed to eliminate the problem. DV and
2's compliment produced audio sync problems, as well as the avi container and
pretty much anything in it. Anyway, I went ahead and tried mpeg-4 and mp3
inside of the quicktime container as per the advice at
http://cvs.cinelerra.org/docs/wiki/doku.php?id=supported_file_formats and my
audio sync problems were gone! I also tried h.264 and mp3 inside of the
quicktime container and the audio sync problems were gone, but there was a big
messed up area underneath my video (it dosen't cover any of the actual video,
but makes my video's overall height larger). It would be nice to be able to
archive to h.264 since that has a better quality than mpeg-4, but it would be a
pain to always have to cut out that garbage area with some other program.
