You recommended a flash/hdd camera, but they all seem to be AVCHD and
trouble for editing.

The Canon HV30 jumps ahead for me, because it is HDV, supported by
dvgrab and seems more common in use for cinelerra users. Higher quality
than AVCHD according to some sites. Also DV compatible, so I'd have that
option also.

The HG10 seems more solid, I prefer less moving parts. I could not find
any info on hacking these HDD cams with bigger disks. AVCHD does not
appear to be a good idea at this point. Similar goes for Sony HDRSR11.

I'd rather not give my money to sony.

So anyone own a HV30 and would like to share an opinion? Any reason I
should not get that one?
