Summary: a/v out of sync when the input file had dropped frames
Product: Cinelerra
Version: 2.1
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: Medium
Component: File Loading
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I have a lot of video files that unfortunately have here and there few dropped
frames. usually, they play fine everywhere, but in cinelerra, the audio and
video gets out of sync.
Since the frames are not dropped in a regular scheme, there is no way to get
the audio and video in sync for the complete length of the video. When the file
is loaded, the sound track is longer. If I fix the framerate of the input file
so that the two tracks have the same length, the audio and video are in sync
only at the beginning and the end of the video. In the middle of it, it all
depends where the frames were dropped.
It seems that cinelerra consider dropped frames as if there were no frame at
all, and so use the next frame in place of the dropped frame, resulting in a
delay between audio and video.
Reproducible: Always
