Cinelerra is licensed under (L)GPL and is free of use. The license it self deals with addition and/or modifications to the source code. In fact, Cinelerra is already used by some of the big players to make, yes, commercial grade clips. Be advised that this product is powerful but not for the fainthearted. Good luck, Frans.
