My machine is a Quad 6600 CPU with 4 GB ram running Fedora 10 32 bit. Once I get the methodology of installing by compiling, I'm going to reinstall with Fedora 11 64 bit, which will be out soon. I'd like to make all my mistakes on this machine and start fresh with a little increased knowledge.
I'm trying to compile per the instructions in the Cinelerra CV manual here: http://cvs.cinelerra.org/docs/cinelerra_cv_manual_en.html#SEC12 I downloaded the files and I was able to create the ./configure file after installing cvs, using the suggested command I've now run the './configure --with-buildinfo=svn/recompile' command as suggested, and have gotten a long list of missing dependencies. Now, I'm lost. I need a methodology. This is the list of missing components: Summary of mandatory components: libtheora missing libdv missing libx264 libraries missing libx264 headers missing mjpegtools missing libfftw3 libraries missing libfftw3 headers missing liba52 libraries missing liba52 headers missing libmp3lame libraries missing libmp3lame headers missing libfaac libraries missing libfaac headers missing libfaad libraries missing libfaad headers missing Summary of optional components: libraw1394 missing libiec61883 missing libavc1394 libraries missing libavc1394 headers missing librom1394 libraries missing librom1394 headers missing Some of these dependencies exist on this machine such as the libraw1394 - "Package libraw1394-2.0.1-1.fc10.i386 already installed and latest version" so I'm guessing this is a version problem - but, how do I tell what I need, and how would I deal with that - would I revert to an earlier version, or some later version that's not yet available for Fedora 10? The information in the above list is exactly as it appeared when I ran the 'make' command - there's not much to go on there. I tried yum install libavc1394 and it came back saying there was no such package. Could someone give me some tips on how one goes about tracking down these dependencies? On a somewhat different note - could one of the folks involved in the work on the new replacement for cinelerra-cv explain the roadmap? Has all work on cinelerra-cv stopped? Is there a schedule yet for the new version? Is it actually being worked on, or is there still a planning phase in process? I hope I'm not asking questions that have already been answered over and over. I do get the list and try to read it regularly, but I do miss stuff when I get busy. -- Claude Jones Brunswick, MD, USA _______________________________________________ Cinelerra mailing list [email protected] https://init.linpro.no/mailman/skolelinux.no/listinfo/cinelerra
