Next problem. Boy this is a difficult interface. I converted a desktop capture (recordmydesktop) to dv using ffmpeg. This loaded fine to begin with. Also loaded a wav file for audio. Dragged both from the resources window to the timeline. Played back in the viewer no problem, Though it did not build any thumbnails in the timeline (is it supposed to, if so how to enable?).
Now the same file will not play. It loads and appears to playback after dragging to the timeline, in that the numbers are spinning (no meter activity) and the cursor moves along the compositor timeline, but just black - nothing to be seen. It's not the file - this still plays back fine in mplayer. Could be I changed some critical settings (remember I couldn't apply ny settings before)? The settings I now have are as per http://akiradproject.net/cinelerra_is_very_easy_1 What has to be enabled in the view menu?
