The second beta release of Blackmagic Design's DeckLink Linux SDK is now
available for download.
(Media Express will also be available later on Linux when it releases).

Thanks for downloading the Blackmagic SDK and checking out the BETA
Linux support.
Supported distributions:
- RedHat, Fedora and other RedHat based distributions
- Debian, Ubuntu and other Debian based distributions
- OpenSuse and OpenSUSE based distributions
- Installation on other distributions is possible using the supplied
tarball
Supported architectures:
- IA32
- x86_64
Notes:
- this is a beta release & is not suitable for production use
- the Linux SDK includes new interfaces which are not yet documented
or finalized - these interfaces
are likely to change before the initial release but are suitable
for testing
- please install the kernel headers for your installed kernel before
installing the DeckLink
driver
- the linux driver packages are in the "DeckLink 7.1/Linux/Drivers"
directory - you should install
the package suitable for your distribution
- GUI based automatic firmware update requires QT 4.5 or greater
- firmware update may be initiated manually using
/usr/bin/BlackmagicFirmwareUpdater
- a reboot is required after firmware update
- two simple sample apps are provided and pre-compiled for Linux.
