Hello there I am trying to get some IIDC cameras to work with cinelerra. Grabbing raw 16 bits/pixels files is a non issue. However I need these files to be converted into a sequence of floating point tiff files to be used under cinelerra. Here is the comment/question asked by the developper : Also, it's worth noting that floats are 32 bits, therefore (if uncompressed) the TIFF files will be twice the size of 16 bit integer TIFFs without any gain in precision. Using compression this might be a non-issue, however this is something I would have to confirm. Even when using compression, depending on what Cinerella does internally, the images might take up twice as much RAM when loaded. If Cinerella converts float to 16 bit internally then there's no problem but if it keeps them as float you'll have RAM bloat at your hands. Can someone comment on the RAM issue for us please ? Thanks a lot Edouard _______________________________________________ Cinelerra mailing list [email protected] https://init.linpro.no/mailman/skolelinux.no/listinfo/cinelerra |
