Hi everybody, I have bought a bran new PC with Intel Core i7, 8GB RAM, and a NVidia GTX260 with 1,5GB. I am editing in Cinelerra and all goes perfect except the playback (at least in HD) because is totally choppy... When rendering all goes OK. When playback, audio have little chops, and video have big chops when playing transitions or video effects are added. When playback, all the 8 CPU's are on 50% more or less. I'm using Ubuntu 10.4 Lucid Lynx with linux-rt for Real Time kernel. In Cinelerra I have 2048 on Playback buffer size of audio, I use ALSA audio driver. In Video Playback I have "Play every frame" and X11-XV for video driver.
What do you recommend me to configure Cinelerra to get no choppy on playback? And BTW, what configuration de you recommend me to optimize the entire Ubuntu for the Core i7 power. Thanks everybody.
