Is it really configured for that resolution? It appears to be another
resolution or aspect ratio.

See the properties of the video and you
will know the detected resolution of the video.

When I load my 1440 x 1080

video.

Here is a picture of the effect. [1]

Does anyone know a work
around for this ? Is it a known bug ?

I have started to dabble in using
ffmpg to convert the video, but that means I'm going to
go on a long
learning journey about trans-coding, when all I want to do is edit the
video.
(my first few attempts at converting the video to other formats
have resulted in loss of quality).

I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 with
Cinelerra 2.1 loaded via the apt repositories.
(Build from March
2010).
