Hi there

Just my 2 cents, I usually try to avoid lateral stabilisation, e.g. I
believe that human eye is more sensitive to vertical shaking.
That can cut down heaps of computer time.
But I am working on old films with a sample rate of 18 fps (sometimes
16fps for 9.5 mm films) and usually very amateur stuff, people were
often "running" with their super8 rolling,
I mean it seems that tripods have been invented waaaaaay after super
8... anyway, lateral stabilisation in that sort of case is just useless.

I also tend to use same block previous frame.

Cheers
E
