Hello everybody!

I am a proud owner of a Canon 550D. All its footage is very well seen by
Cinelerra, Full HD, 25p, everything is perfect.
A friend of mine has a Canon Legria, which codec/format is mostly the
same (H.264, 1920x1080, 25p) but its container is .mts instead of .mov,
and Cinelerra doesn't want it.

My friend is forced to convert all the footage in MPEG4 (H.264 encoding
on Linux is still quite buggy, especially ffmpeg 2-pass for long files)
and this is not a good thing because:
- encoding of encoding brings worst quality
- codec and format look like they're the same: how come one yes and one
no?
- Kdenlive works perfectly with both cameras. It's open source, why not
copying from it?

Is there any way to convert containers keeping the same codec/format (so
no re-encoding) on Linux?
We're using Ubuntu 10.10 64 bit.

Thanks everybody,
Stefano
