Mainboard: GA-X58-USB3 (rev. 1.0) Intel® X58 + ICH10R Chipset both for core i7 As I understood the current Kernel supports i7 architecture. Now here are the questions regarding the perfect NLE, Cinelerra Configuration: 1. Generally I am working with openSUSE 11.x, so I like to stick with this, however I have the question what might be the best Windows-Manager as KDE has a lot of overhead. 2. What might be a good configuration for the VIDEO adapter. I think about a Black Magic Intensity Pro for the viewer, but would like to use two further monitors for composer and main window. Which dual head graphic adapter gives the less trouble? I read the ATI HD 5870 offers full LINUX support and has as well HDMI out, so may be there is mo need for a Intensity Pro using this adapter?
