work. Maybe I am asking too much of Cinelerra she seems unstable and

I've noticed problems with memory leaks in recent builds of 2.1-CV at
least with DV source files. Every time I play & stop the timeline,
more memory is used. So I keep top running in a terminal and when I
get low on free RAM (and the swap usage begins to start,) I save,
close, and reopen Cinelerra. Perhaps you're seeing this too? (This
wasn't a problem 2 years ago.)

Yes I am having the same problem. Actually I am having to many
problems. I have started to work using another program in Windows this
afternoon. I don't like it but I need to get some things done and it's
not happening with Cinelerra. Some of the clips for my present video are
now corrupted so I have to start over with them. At this point I don't
trust any of them. I just posted a video to U-tube and it looks so bad I
didn't let it go public. I think that I will use xp to do video and
dedicate it solely to that so that it will be isolated. That will allow
me to be free to experiment in Ubuntu and cineleraa as well as a couple
of the other Linux video programs. I kind of feel like a person ought
not be messing with programs when trying to do video on a drive. There
are just to many things going on in a editing program to take any
chances. I am even thinking updates should be kept off when working
with video.
This may be over kill but that's the way I am leaning.
