Hi all, we talked about a missing feature or a potential improvement of the UI. Sorry for lazily copying parts of the IRC talk here: < skoe> I have a question about the track editor: There are two effects on one track. First one, a while later another one. Looks like this: < skoe> 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 (time) < skoe> aaaa bbbbb < skoe> I want to drag effect "aaa" longer to go just to frame #4 < skoe> But when I do this, effect "bbbb" moves to the right. < skoe> I have this situation quite often. Is there a simple way to make "bbbb" not move? < hermanr> You have to apply bbbb again, I think. < hermanr> Detach, and reattach to the region where you want it. Then it will line up _under_ aaaa. < skoe> Mhhh. Would be nice to have <Shift> or <Ctrl> to lock the rest of the track. At least as long as they do _not_ overlap. < hermanr> But that's worthy of a feature request. Cinelerra can slip and slide clips, so the same should be possible for effects. < skoe> Up to now I remembered the position of "bbb", change "aaa" and moved back "bbb" to the old position. < skoe> So to summarize it: < skoe> Make "aaaaaaa bbbbbbbb" to "aaaaaaaaaabbbbbbbb" with one mouse movement and one modifier key possibly. < hermanr> Oh, so bbb moves immediately, before aaa is touching it? < hermanr> That's even weirder! < skoe> yes < hermanr> Is there a valid case to be made for that behaviour? < hermanr> Any at all? < skoe> and possibly also clips on that track (behind aaa) - dunno, on this track there are effects only :) < skoe> I can understand the movement for clips, but not for effects. < hermanr> Agreed. < skoe> But even for clips it would be better if they only move when they touch each other. Or possibly a global "lock" for any movement of this kind. < hermanr> Please raise this on the mailing list, ASAP. < hermanr> There's a dev meeting here on IRC in two days.
What do you think about it? Regard, Thomas _______________________________________________ Cinelerra mailing list [email protected] https://init.linpro.no/mailman/skolelinux.no/listinfo/cinelerra
