Last week I have bought two ultra cheap Fujifilm camera's. The AV200 series are available at 50 euro here, they record at 720p. I do truely hope they will ever be hackable but showing off what you can do with it already is fun too. I don't know if I am the first using Cinelerra, but I produced my first 3D movie in Cinelerra. There is room for optimisation, especially automatic alignment/scaling in the projector for side-by-side images. But also more common things such as visually synchonising a clap. I would recommend that more than one viewer could be opened, and maybe even 'genlock' viewers, so a play in one means a play in the others. The howto; - - get the aspect ratio of your video's right - - create two video tracks, one for left one for right - - create additional audio tracks two pairs - - rename the tracks to something understandable - - synchronise the first frame on the two videos (make a left and a right clip) - - drag in the left video - - disarm left tracks - - drag in the right video - - arm the left video track - - verify both videos are in sync - - add video effect scale to both videos, scale x = 0.5 - - go to the compositor. - - your videos should appear scaled now - - disarm the right track - - change projector settings, move over the x axis to a minus a quarter of your original width - - disarm the left track - - arm the right track - - change projector settings, move over the x axis to a plus a quarter of your original width - - both videos will appear next to each other, if you are all set: render out :) And obviously an URL: <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8hrj1FqeVBg> Next time there will be more sun ;) and less noise.
