Hi

While following this thread and experimenting on my own, I stumble on
something... When I apply the inverse video plugin, I dont get the same
result if my project's color model is RGB or YUV. It seems as if the
plugin simply reverse each channel without considering if the color
model is RGB or YUV. If your color model is RGB then the plugin work
right and each chanel/color is inverted. However if your color model is
YUV then the first channel is Y and it get inverted if you select the
"invert R". Finally if you invert all three channel RGB you get the same
result whether your color model is YUV or RGB.

It's the same with the Blur effect. The effect is applied to the
"components" you choose. There are either three or four of them,
and alpha is the fourth.

The lazy fix would be to detect the colour format, and switch the labels
in the plugin's settings window. Quite often the behaviour you described
is exactly what you would want. Or not? I would like to hear your
opinions on this.

I guess if you know the effect you want to use, you select your color model accordingly, however in editing a project it is not practical to change the color model for every other effect you apply and hope for the fist effect to produce the same result. I suppose the proposed fix would provide consistency, and provide more accurate information on how the effect is applied. I try the effect RGB to 601 to can change the color space for a specific track, but it does not seems to work. Would it be possible to convert the effect to one color space or the other before applying it? Or what are the advantage of using one color space or an other in the editing process? Maybe the color space could be limited to only RGB(A)? How will Lumiera cope with color space selection?

Felix-A.
