Hello, sorry if this has been brought up before: Are there any plans to implement jack support into Cinelerra?
It's not on a roadmap that I know of, but it is on my personal near-term TODO, for what it is worth.
Our music school offers a new degree in scoring for film.
Neat! I'm dabbling with scoring in Rosegarden myself ... http://www.nuug.no/pub/herman/misc/really_slavic.mp3 ... and synching Rosegarden and Cinelerra with Jack Transport is a usecase of a certain interest to me.
The electronic studio heavily relies on linux machines using open source software. Cinelerra could be a real alternative to Sequoia, Premiere Final Cut or Vegas, but for this, professional audio support is mandatory (which in the linux world means jack and jack_transport).
Indeed.
Using the jack and jack-transport API is fairly easy (I've done that for other applications) so I can't imagine the implementation is a major deal comparing it to the awesome features already present in Cinelerra.
Are you volunteering? :-) Or looking for collaborators? -- Herman Robak _______________________________________________ Cinelerra mailing list [email protected] https://init.linpro.no/mailman/skolelinux.no/listinfo/cinelerra
