Thanks very much... I got a "whack" of offline replies on this one and *really* appreciate everyone's replies......
We've taken this back to the outside plant folks and they have found some RF fluxuation in one of the return amps so far.... A "*" indicates a cable modem that is rapidly varying its upstream power levels. This is indicative of a poor connection to the cable plant, a faulty reverse path amplifier, or rapidly changing cable plant attenuation due to temperature or other environmental effects. A "!---" indicates a cable modem that has reached its maximum upstream power level. This is indicative of too much attenuation between the cable modem and the CMTS, or a poor connection between the cable modem and the cable plant. >From here: http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/109/troubleshooting_slow_perf.shtml#noisean derrors I had it bookmarked from ages ago. - Scott _______________________________________________ cisco-nsp mailing list [email protected] https://puck.nether.net/mailman/listinfo/cisco-nsp archive at http://puck.nether.net/pipermail/cisco-nsp/
