I thought they had increased the speed on the bus with the VXR, and why some things prior to the NPE300 wouldn't work correctly, but I could be way off on that one. Also if I am correct, with the NPE-G2 you now have 3 PCI busses available, since the old slot for the I/O controller is now independent and setup for a high bandwidth usage.
I just picked up a G2, so guess I will soon learn first hand how well it works.. --- Howard Leadmon > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:cisco-nsp- > [EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Gert Doering > Sent: Tuesday, August 07, 2007 4:16 PM > To: Sridhar Ayengar > Cc: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [c-nsp] gigabit ports/modules for 7507 and 7513 routers > > Hi, > > On Tue, Aug 07, 2007 at 02:48:02PM -0400, Sridhar Ayengar wrote: > > > My understanding is that the PA-CyBus interface is a variation of PCI > > > that's limited to 330Mbps. > [..] > > So then doesn't that limitation also apply to the 7200VXR series routers? > > There's no CyBus in 7200s.
