Hello, We're moving some of our VMWare servers from our core C6513 to a new Cisco 4948 switch.
We are migrating the same configuration for these servers from the C6513 to the C4948. We have some static MAC multicast entries, and the "mac-address-table static " command seems not compatible with IGMP snooping and we should replace it. When we introduce this command (mac-address-table static 0100.5e7f.0399 vlan 103 interface Port-channel1), it says that IGMP snooping is enabled in vlan 103 and we should use the command "ip igmp snooping vlan" instead. Then I have two options: 1 - Disable IGMP snooping and put the same command (mac-address-table static 0100.5e7f.0399 vlan 103 interface Port-channel1) 2 - With IGMP snooping enabled, configure the equivalent command with the " ip igmp snooping vlan" (ip igmp snooping vlan 103 static 0100.5e7f.0399 interface Port-channel1) I think the best option is number 2, but does this new command behave exactly the same as the old one? What do you think?
