Hello! By looking at Ciscos performance numbers for 2821, both for unencrypted traffic and for encrypted traffic, we got the impression that 2821 with AIM-VPN would be usable for at least 60-70 Mbps of encrypted traffic. Then we had a meeting with a company (not Cisco) that had actually tried this in their lab. They said that 2821 with AIM-VPN/SSL-2 is fine for encrypted traffic in the 20-30 Mbps range, not much higher. I'm interested in other performance numbers for an upcoming design decision.
Equipment recommendations for this scenario would be very much appreciated: Two central offices with 1 Gbps Ethernet between them. Each central office has 100 Mbps Ethernet lines to 10-15 branch offices. All traffic is encrypted. We have been considering 2821 or 2851 at the branch offices, and 7600 at the central offices.
