If the image fits, it fits.  That's all there is.  Most Cisco routers
(I'm not sure about all 8xx series, thus "most") do not use the flash for
anything but IOS files, and potentially crashdumps - so there is no need
to reserve anything.

The upgrade planner is sometimes just way off.
