I doubt you'll get anything other than "not supported", since Cisco
makes too much money on transceivers. They're not about to give up
on that lightly.

Sure. I mean, god forbid they make their money by innovation and competition. Much easier to push a transceiver design where they can blame the lack of interop on "bus interface issues" and "the cheap transceivers lie about EDC it's not our fault".
