Mpls seems a bit much if you're not already running BGP, but l2pvn is an option 
if your hw supports it. I'm not sure 6500's support security vpns such as l2tp 
or IPSec.  If run into this limitation in the past. Have you thought about 
trunking and routing over the same interface.  It's kind of sloppy but it would 
work.  There are also dwdm/cwdm sfp's that may allow you to create a second 
logical gig interface on the same fiber.
