Take a look at pktgen It's part of the Linux kernel, and it is very easy to use. Most distributions will have this installed as a module, so all you have to do is load it ( modprobe pktgen ), and then define the traffic parameters (IP ranges, port ranges, ToS, etc ).... http://lxr.linux.no/#linux+v2.6.37/Documentation/networking/pktgen.txt
It is a great tool for testing QoS.
