yep, *ip multicast-routing* distributed is configured

you also have the correct sdm template setup on the switch ?

I assume you could not configure multicast routing otherwise.

You do have ip multicast-routing distributed configured, right? From
memory this command cannot be configured on IP Base.

Intressting link, helps to understand PIM Stub :-)

Started off with IPBase on the CE and* ip pim passive on* the SVI.

For testing purpose I upgraded the CE to IPservices. --> still the same
behaviour :-(

BTW: I use static rp and pim sparse.

many thanks, keti

Are you running IPBase on your CE by any chance? PIM sparse-dense mode
need
at least IPServices on a 3x50 if I remember correctly (the switch will
take
the commands but you'll see no multicast traffic). There is a work
around
using PIM stub and manually announcing a bsr & rp candidate (
https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2153703) which I had to use
recently.

Here is part of my LAB-setup:

PE (RP lo 0)
vrf RED (ip igmp join-group 239.5.5.5)
 ¦
 ¦ PIM
 ¦
CE (SVI / PIM SM (ip igmp join-group 239.6.6.6)
 ¦
 ¦ IGMP

 Receiver (ip igmp join-group 239.8.8.8)

PE5 6500 151-1.SY1
CE 3750X 150-2.SE2
Receiver 3750X 150-2.SE2
--------------------------------------------
The issue is:
Receiver can reach 239.6.6.6 and 239.5.5.5
PE or CE cannot reach 239.8.8.8

Changing CE and receiver from 3750X to 6500, MC-ping works from all 3
devices to any MC-group.

PE:
(*, 239.8.8.8), 02:43:40/00:02:45, RP 5.5.5.5, flags: S
Incoming interface: Null, RPF nbr 0.0.0.0
  Outgoing interface list:
    TenGigabitEthernet2/5, Forward/Sparse, 02:39:09/00:02:45

(5.5.5.5, 239.8.8.8), 00:14:15/00:02:57, flags: T
Incoming interface: Loopback0, RPF nbr 0.0.0.0
  Outgoing interface list:
    TenGigabitEthernet2/5, Forward/Sparse, 00:14:15/00:02:45

Debug on CE does not show any output. (deb ip icmp)

Is there any 3750X specific command I need to enable ?

Any idea or troubleshooting advice is greatly appreciated.

many thanks, keti
