ASR9000s report altitude (admin show environ) .  I have checked CISCO-ENTITY-SENSOR-MIB and have not been able to see where I can poll this number.

Anyone know how to poll?

I was under the impression that the altitude setting was manual, and was intended to help the system vary the fan speeds in line with the altitude.

There's something in the back of my brain about a bug wherein the fan curve wasn't quite optimised for certain hardware configurations, and so the workaround was to set the altitude to some higher number in order to force the fan curve to step-up (which could also then blow your PSU budget :))

But, this was all some time ago; perhaps it has changed in use?
